With the W (Wind) mode on the I-DC5 circuit installed in this reel, prevention against backlash under strong wind conditions have been reinforced. This means that lures which are heavily affected by air resistance can also be cast with ease by anglers. Castability is increased with the use of Magnumlite Spool. In addition to the cold-forged body, the micromodule gear featured in this reel has allowed for a smooth rotation feel at a very low noise level. Finally, the rotational resitance of the spool is further reduced by using a new rotor clutch by Shimano.

MICROMODULE

The MicroModule Gear technology creates a smooth retrieve by utilizing smaller teeth to increase the number of contact points between the drive gear and pinion gear.


X SHIP

X SHIP provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This increased support allows the gears to stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. X-Ship technology also eliminates the friction between the spool shaft and gear to further benefit anglers with enhanced casting performance and casting distance of lighter lures.



HAGANE BODY

The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminate body flexing on the reel while fighting a fish. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power,


MGL SPOO

The MagnumLite (MGL) Spool is designed with reducing the moment of inertia with the hole on side wall, and improves casting performance.

SILENT TUNE

By applying slight pressure to the bearing holding the spool, SilentTune reduces the vibration of the bearing during high-speed rotation. This improves the quietness while casting and the rise of the spool rotation becomes even smoother.


I-DC5

DC brake system perceives the changing spool speed and controls brake power with microcomputer, and provides the cast-performance of long distance and anti-backrash. I-DC5 brake is the combination of 3 modes: FL (Fluoro), P (PE), N (Nylon), with 5 dial adjustments to enable precise and eazy settings.

 

S COMPACT BODY

S-Compact Body provides the confortable palming body by making the palming side plate smaller than the handle side plate.
